Water description
There is only one type of water and that falls from the sky.

BUt after mixing with different materials on the EArth, different type of water are devised.

These water have different qualities.



Types of water that falls from the sky as rain:
1. dhaar (water drops),
2. kaaraka, (ice balls)
3. Taushaar (snowflakes)
3. haim. (ice)

On the earth two types:
1. Gaang (pure water)and
2. Saamudra. (salty)



Rain water:
The water that falls from the sky gains the qualities of moon, sun, air, light and season. The rays of sun and moon effect the water.

Rain water had 6 qualities. viz: cool, pure, beneficial, soft and light. After falling on the land it gains qualities of the place.

It has Som Rasa when it is pure.


After falling on the land it changes in following manner:
- if it falls on white land - the water becomes kasaiala in taste (tart)
- Yellow color land - becomes bitter in taste.
- Brown color land - Salty taste.
- Top soil - salty and spicy.
- on mountain - charpara
- Black soil - sweet water

The water that falls from the sky does not have any taste. It is termed as Aindra jala. This water if collected in containers is to be drunk by the kings!

That's what wise people say! At the end of monsoon season when rain water falls from the sky, it is best Aindra Jala.


The water which is sweet and less rasa in it. Must be thin and has no stickyness. Which is light and never came into contact with the land THAT IS THE BEST WATER!

Water in the rainy season usually is heavy and runs on the land.

Water in the autumn season is light and not flows on the land. This water is good for young people. It is well balanced water.

Water in the pre-winter season is oily, sweet and heavy. It increases body's strength.

In winters the water is light and pacifies kapha and vata.

Vasanta season water is bitter and sweet and dry.


Kings, rich people and intelligent men must drink water that is collected in autumn season.




River water:
The water that is flown from the Himalayan mountain ranges. Where saints live which comes through the stones is good for health.

The river which bring balu sand along with it and the water is soft and Which come from Malaya mountain (east mountain) is good for health.

The river that flows towards the west have good water.

Rivers that flow towards east direction and meet the sea and if their flow is slow the water would be heavy.


The rivers water, that flow from east mountains Vidhyanchal ranges cause elephant foot , heart disease and epilepsy.

The water in river during rainy season consists of insects, snakes and animals. So it is harmful for health.

The water that comes from deep inside land have the qualities of the surrounding area and land type.

The water which is sticky and have green fungi or have bad odour is harmful.
